2025 Practicing the Way.png

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”

Luke 11:2-4, NIV

Sunday service

9 AM | KCF Center - 705 S. King Street, Ste. 106

Lesson from the Bible, Worship Songs, Stories on the Couch, Casual atmosphere.  Come as you are. We're a laid back community of people with serious faith seeking God's best for our life.

We are excited for you to join us along this journey of the Practices of Jesus -- "Practicing the Way."  These are ancient practices, "spiritual disciplines," of Jesus that shape who we are and how we live a more fulfilling life.

The Practice of Prayer is the third in our series of Practices of Jesus in 2025.

Prayer is the medium through which we communicate and commune with God. We will unpack together the progression of Prayer -- Talking to God, Talking With God, Listening to God, Being With God.  Jesus modeled prayer for His disciples.  We strive to learn from what Jesus did.

In 2025, Practicing the Way will follow a rhythm of five-week cycles.  For four weeks, we will learn and practice each spiritual discipline together in community. Then, on the fifth week, we'll pause to focus entirely on reflection, a vital part of spiritual formation.

At Formation Church, we believe that Sunday Service should be interactive, engaging, and a safe place to ask honest questions and receive encouragement in your personal journey to: Be with Jesus.  Become like Jesus. Do what He did, for the sake of others.

ABOUT us

We are a group of ordinary people who are sinners, no better than anyone else, doing our best to follow what Jesus said to do.  In our personal journeys that we share in community, we focus on who we are becoming for the sake of others.  Our spiritual formation process can be summarized as denying self, surrendering fully, and following daily.  This is from Matthew 16: 24 "Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me."  The Bible is God's Word and we hold fast to its truths and principles.  We are committed to follow Jesus and His instructions to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength, and to go out and reach people with His love where we live and throughout the world.
