who we are
We are a Christian Church who is committed to our Lord Jesus Christ. We hold fast to the truths and principles of the Bible.
We are affiliated with The Missionary Church. The Missionary Church ministers to over 160,000 people in more than 1,500 congregations in 28 countries. There are over 370 congregations in the United States. The goal of The Missionary Church is to fulfill the Great Commission.
We are committed to follow Jesus and His instructions to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength, and to go out and reach people with His love where we live and throughout the world.
our HISTORY
Our church started in 2004 as a church plant from Moanalua Gardens Missionary Church and are affiliated nationally with the Missionary Church. In 1902, a series of revival meetings resulted in the formation of a new church in Kaka'ako, O'ahu - the Kaka'ako Mission. The Mission faithfully ministered to many people in Honolulu, and grew to a congregation of approximately 500 people. In 1956, Kaka'ako Mission found a new home in Moanalua, as Moanalua Gardens Missionary Church. In 2003, we sensed God's call to go back to Kaka'ako and plant this church. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic we gathered at McKinley High School and the McKinley Community School for Adults and our Sunday Services included a stage for the Worship team (like a band that leads the congregation in singing songs to God), a lecture-style sermon, and large auditorium format seating.
Today, we have chosen to gather in a smaller neighborhood setting where we strive for "everyone to know your name" and where we hope you feel like you belong. Our weekly stories told on the couch are interactive and we connect in our common humanity as we together learn and encourage one another to be like Jesus and do what He did. At the same time, people checking us out for the first time can still feel comfortable being anonymous for a while without the pressure of engaging with strangers. (Hey introverts, there's a lot of us here so we get you!). Just come as you are. We know that God is doing a great work in you wherever you're at and we'd love to meet you.
